XP & Levels
Using Vault earns you XP. XP builds your level across a season, unlocking rank medals and quests along the way. This guide explains where XP comes from and how progression works.
What is XP?
XP is Vault's progression currency. It isn't a token and has no market value — it exists purely to track how active you've been on Vault during the current season and to unlock levels, rank medals, and quest rewards along the way.
XP comes in two states on your Season page and in the Quest Book: confirmed XP already counts toward your level, while pending XP is XP you've just earned that is still settling before it moves to confirmed. You don't need to do anything — pending XP clears automatically.
Earning XP
XP is earned automatically as you use Vault. There are three main ways to stack it up during a season:
Swap & trade
Every swap and Hyperliquid perps trade earns XP based on volume — more volume means more XP.
Refer friends
Bring friends to Vault with your referral code or link and earn bonus XP for every person you refer.
Complete quests
Daily, weekly, season, and global quests hand out one-off XP boosts for specific actions — check the Quest Book often, since daily and weekly quests reset on a timer.
For the platform fees that apply to swaps and trades, see the Fees support page, and for how referrals work, see the Referrals support page.
Levels and ranks
Your level number keeps counting for the whole season. Level 0 is unranked — every step up the rank track earns its own medal, shown on your Season page and in the Quest Book next to your XP total.
There are 33 medals. Reach the top of that track and the medals start again from the beginning, while your level number keeps going — 34, 35, and on. Clearing the medal track never removes XP you've already earned.
Seasons and quests
Vault runs XP in seasons, each with its own start and end date (shown at the top of the Season page). XP tracking is only active while a season is live — between seasons you can still trade as normal, but XP and level progress pause until the next season opens.
Quests
Quests are one-off or repeating objectives that reward a fixed chunk of XP when completed. Open the Quest Book from the XP pill in the header to see what's available, track your progress step by step, and claim finished quests. Quests come in four cadences:
Daily
Reset every day. Usually quick, repeatable actions worth a small XP boost.
Weekly
Reset every week. Slightly bigger asks with a larger XP reward.
Season
Story-driven quests that stay available for the whole season — Vault's version of a longer-term goal.
Global
Season-long challenges everyone works toward together, shown on the Season page.
Completed quests show a Claim button — the XP isn't added to your total until you claim it, so check back on quests you've finished.
