About VeChain
VeChain (VET) is the native token of VeChainThor, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 public blockchain built for real-world applications such as supply-chain tracking, product provenance, digital product passports, sustainability and tokenized rewards for verified actions. VeChainThor uses a dual-token model: VET is used for staking and network security, while VTHO is the gas token used to pay transaction fees. Since December 2025 the network has run on Delegated Proof of Stake, secured by validators and by VET holders who stake through StarGate.
